Etymology: grummorum: Named for the well-known investigators of Central Asia, the brothers G.E. and M.E. Grumm-Grzhimailo, who collected the type exemplars.
Eponymy: Dr Sven Anders Hedin (1865–1952) was the much-honoured foremost explorer of eastern Europe and Asia in his day, as well as a writer, illustrator, geographer and photographer.
