Rückenflossenstacheln (insgesamt) : 11; Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt) : 12 - 14; Afterflossenstacheln: 2; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 13 - 14; Wirbelzahl: 28. This species is distinguished by the following characters: with slightly forkshaped anterior rays of the dorsal (D) fin; welldeveloped streak pattern on the head, and light operculum; reticular pigmentation on body, with two or three fuzzy longitudinal stripes in upper half; D without eyespot on spiny part and with two or three longitudinal rows of streaks on soft part; several (3-6) sharp transverse black stripes on caudal fin; a black mark in main part off spiny ray ventral fin; pectoral fin usually with 20 or 21 rays; vertebrae 28; gill rakers 24-26 (Ref. 129448).
