Taggstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 8; Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 13; Taggstrålar i analfenan 3; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 9; Ryggkotor: 23. This species is distinguished from all its congeners by the following characters: body colour yellow to orange with two distinctive black blotches on the upper and lower caudal fin lobes; D VIII,13, with length of first dorsal-fin spine 5% SL and depth at origin of dorsal fin 22% SL; A III, 9; pectoral fin 14; total gill rakers on first arch 15; lateral-line scales 62; least depth of caudal peduncle 15% SL; orbit diameter 9% SL (Ref. 120708)..
