Etymology: ramzani: Named for Dr. Muhammad Ramzan Mirza, a very eminent ichthyologist of Pakistan.
Eponymy: Dr Muhammad Ramzan Mirza (d: 1936) is a Pakistani zoologist, ichthyologist and limnologist. He is an independent researcher at the Department of Zoology, Government College University, Lahore. He co-wrote: Fishes of Pakistan and fish culture (1993). (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
