Etymology: Enteromius: Greek, enteron = intestine + Greek, myo, mys = muscle (Ref. 45335);  seymouri: Named for the late Tony Seymour, in recognition of his many years of service to Malawi not only in Fisheries but also in many aspects of environmental management and conservation, and for his long-term commitment for supporting fishermen from Lake Malawi..

Short description Morfologia | Morfometria

Spine dorsali (totale): 0; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 10-11; Spine anali 0; Raggi anali molli: 8 - 9; Vertebre: 34 - 35. Diagnosis: moderate-sized, robust-bodied species; last dorsal simple ray ossified and serrated; 26-29 lateral line scales; no prominent sheath of enlarged scales at the base of the dorsal fin; fins tinted pinkish-orange; midlateral black stripe extends through the caudal fin to the fork, but does not extend onto the snout (Ref. 75045).
