Morphologie | Morphométrie
Épines dorsales (Total): 16 - 17; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 9-10; Épines anales 7-8; Rayons mous anaux: 7 - 8; Vertèbres: 26 - 28. This species is similar to A. scitulus, but differs in having a lower dorsal 16 (vs.17) and anal 7 (vs. 8-9) fin spine counts; it has a higher dorsal ray count 10 (vs. 9); a shorter head; a larger interorbital distance; and lacks the diagnostic blotches on head and body which is usually present in A. scitulus (Ref. 74689).
