背棘 (總數): 0; 背的軟條 (總數): 12; 臀棘 0; 臀鰭軟條: 8. Having 8-12 dark bars wider than interspaces on the body; a broad, dark, inner axial stripe; posterior margin of the last body bar distinctly concave; dorsal fin with a black spot at base of simple rays and first branched ray and a brown one at base of branched rays 3-7; all fins with partly or entirely black rays and hyaline membranes; upper lip smooth, without median incision, folds or furrows.
在身體上讓 8-12條深色的橫帶寬間隙; 一條寬的﹐深色的﹐和內部的軸斑紋; 最後身體橫帶的後緣明顯地凹曲; 在分支條 3-7 的基底的單一鰭條與第一個分枝的鰭條基底與褐色的背鰭有一個黑色的斑點; 全部部分鰭有或完全黑色的鰭條與透明的薄膜; 上嘴唇平滑的, 沒有中央的切口，摺層或犁溝。
Seems to prefer stretches with swift current and stony or rocky substrate, but also found over sandy substrate (Ref. 43281).
