Distinguished by having the following characteristics: head depressed; expanded cheeks; without scales; maximum length reaching 6.3 cm SL (Ref. 92840).
Adults are benthic (Ref. 92840). Found in rocky crevices, from tide pools to at least 14 m depth (Ref. 11482). Larvae usually found around sargassum (Ref. 37955).
