; 淡水 居於水底的; 河川洄游 (Ref. 51243). 熱帶; 13°S - 15°S
Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Found at Cape Maclear, East coast, near Masinje, and Likoma Islands. Also in Senga Bay.
非洲: 馬拉威湖的特有種。 在 Masinje 的附近，發現在岬 Maclear ，東海岸了, 與 Likoma 島。 也在 Senga 海灣。

Encountered only in shallow sandy and intermediate habitats when breeding, and disappeared in the same area after the season. Probably migrates to deeper levels when not breeding. Feeds on invertebrates (Ref. 5595).
