Body grayish-blue on back, silvery-white on abdomen; pectoral, pelvic and anal fins light yellow and caudal fin light red; barbels 2 pairs nearly equal in length (Ref. 45563).

Inhabits rivers and lakes with slight or no current. Feeds on benthic invertebrate, algae and small pieces of macrophytes (Ref. 45563).
