Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Schizothoracinae
Max. size:  50.6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Tarim River (Ref. 33508) and Boston Lake, Xijiang Autonomous Region, China (Ref. 33800).
Diagnosis:  Body grayish-blue on back, silvery-white on abdomen; pectoral, pelvic and anal fins light yellow and caudal fin light red; barbels 2 pairs nearly equal in length (Ref. 45563).
Biology:  Inhabits rivers and lakes with slight or no current. Feeds on benthic invertebrate, algae and small pieces of macrophytes (Ref. 45563).
