Adults found in exposed seaward reefs. Sometimes inhabit clear lagoons or channels. They occur in small to large aggregations on the upper edge of the slope over live coral or rubble. Uncommon (Ref. 9710). Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Feeds on planktons (Ref. 89972). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205).
