पृष्ठीय सौफट रेज़ (सम्पूर्ण): 12; ऐनल सौफट रेज़: 15 - 17; जानवरों की रीड़ का जोड़: 40 - 41. Distinguished from all its congeners by the combination of the following characters: anal fin with 11½-13½ branched rays; 44-48 large scales on the total pored lateral line; total vertebrae usually 40 (20+20); shallow caudal peduncle (depth 35-43% body depth at dorsal fin origin); usually mostly or completely scaled ventral keel; mouth with a straight and upturned cleft; interorbital width 1.1-1.4 times the eye diameter; completely ossified preethmoid; and narrow, very deeply indented anterior tip of the urohyal, a unique feature among species of Alburnoides from western Europe (Ref. 85842).
Found in river sections 0.5-1 m deep and up to 5 m wide with a moderately fast current at an elevation of about 1050 m (Ref. 85842).
