Short description Morfologia | Morfometria

Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 10-12; Spine anali 2; Raggi anali molli: 8 - 11. Distinguished from Percarina demidoffii by its unique character of having scaled cheek. Differs further by the combination of the following characters: body pigmented; back and flanks grey with numerous dense small dark dots, which may be fused into larger spots along base of dorsal fins (Ref. 59043).

Biologia     Glossario (es. epibenthic)

Inhabits coastal fresh and brackish waters with salinities up to 7 ppt, and river mouths. Occurs in groups. From about 6 mm SL feeds actively on planktonic crustaceans, at 16-40 mm on larger copepods and mysids, and from second year of life on Knipowitschia longecaudata, Clupeonella cultriventis, benthic worms, molluscs and insect larvae. Attains first sexual maturity at 1 year of age. Spawns in at least saline part of Gulf of Taganrog in June-July. Adults migrate to open sea soon after spawning. Eggs are released over mud bottom. Eggs hatch in 2 days and larvae first lie on bottom, moving to the surface at 4 days (Ref. 59043).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.7500   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01000 (0.00244 - 0.04107), b=3.04 (2.81 - 3.27), in cm total length, based on all LWR estimates for this body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.4   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilienza (Ref. 120179):  Alto, tempo minimo di raddoppiamento della popolazione meno di 15 mesi (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
