Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea. No exact localities are stated (Ref. 30915). If the type locality is in error this might be a synonym of the very similar Hippocampus zosterae.

彩色斑紋: 保存的標本白褐色沒有斑紋。
Length type refers to height. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
