Commenti

Known from Lake Sorell, Lake Crescent and the Clyde River (Ref. 7300). Recoeded from associated streams on the Central Tasmanian Plateau (Ref. 44894). The Inland Fisheries Service (IFS) established two translocated populations in farm dams (surface areas <0.60 ha) in the Clyde River catchment, between 1996-1998. One population is in the Interlaken area near Lake Sorell and the other is in the Jericho areas south of Lake Crescent (Ref. 51290). Currently very abundant in Lake Crescent and reasonably abundant in Lake Sorell; the two translocated populations are presently abundant with the presence of several year classes indicating that the populations are self-sustaining and well established (Ref. 51290). Population is primarily threatened by recent drought and persistent low water levels in lakes Crescent and Sorell; competition and predation from introduced fish is also a significant threat (Ref. 51290).

Status of threat: Endangered (Ref. 51305).
