Type locality, Kansas, Cherokee County, Spring River at KS Hwy 96, UAIC 10460.21 (holotype of Etheostoma teddyroosevelt, breeding male, 4.07 cm SL). Known from Arkansas and upper White river drainages (upstream of Bull Shoals Dam) on the Ozark Plateau of Missouri, Arkansas, extreme southeastern Kansas, and northeastern Oklahoma. In the Arkansas River it is found mainly in northern tributary systems from the Neosho River system downstream to Illinois Bayou; also found in the Petit Jean and Fourche La Fave river systems, southern tributaries along the northern edge of the Ouachita Mountains (Ref. 92294). |
