Type locality, Western Australia, north of Cape Lambert, CSIRO H4031-79 (holotype of Ratabulus fulviguttatus, 26.2 cm SL). Known from Northwestern Australia, from North West Cape, Western Australia (21°49'S) to Bathurst Island, Northern Territory (10°02'S), 126-248 m (Ref. 86254). Also Ref. Also Ref. 3131, 5978.
