Known from Kara Gölü, near Elmali, Antalya Province. Also Ref. 106151. Threatened due to habitat loss, eutrophication/pollution, construction of wiers/dams in rivers and water abstraction (Ref. 58342). Its main habitat, Kara Gölü, was drained in the 1950s and converted into agricultural area. Another lake in the area Avlan Gölü does not exist anymore where this species may be marginally surviving in a small nearby lake habitat or may already be extinct (Ref. 58342). Recorded from Lake Karagöl, Elmalı, Antalya (Ref. 93777).

Status of threat: Critically endangered (Ref. 58342). nEurTurk.
