Occurs in the Mekong basin. Found in the lower and middle Xe Bangfai river (Ref. 27732), Khone Falls (Ref. 37772) and Ban Hang Khone at Don Khone, 3 km below the fall line of the great waterfalls at Lee Pee (Ref. 9497). A migratory species (Ref. 37772). Enters flooded forest on Don Khone, just below the great waterfalls (Ref. 9497). Museum: Mekong, CAS 93264 (Below Khone Falls); CAS 94888 (Ban Hang Khone, just below Khone Falls) (Ref. 5515). Also Refs. 2686, 30857, 36654, 37767, 37769, 45536, 50526, 56905.
