Known only from the middle reaches of the Krishna River drainage in southern India (Ref. 41209). Recorded from Nagarjun Sagar, Krishna river and its tributaries in Andhra Pradesh (Ref. 45255). Fairly common in the fishery catches in the Nagarjungasagar, an impoundment on river Krishna in Andhra Pradesh (Ref. 4833). Also Ref. 43629, 43636, 43640.
