Occurs mainly in northern Namibia where it is abundant (Ref. 36731). A rare visitor to Walvis Bay (Ref. 3198). Specimens held at the MFMR. Caught occasionally with bottom trawls as a bycatch of the hake fishery, and as a bycatch of midwater trawlers (Ref. 36731). Also Ref. 2715, 3688, 27121, 27637, 54854.
