Type locality, Port Philip, Victoria, AM 144 (lectotype of Clinus marmoratus, 14.4 cm TL); primary homonym and replaced by Sticharium flavescens). Known from Port Philip, VIC (145°02'E) to Port Adelaide, SA (138°30'E) andn northern Tasmania (41°14'S) (Ref. 75154).
