Indigenous in Lake LĂ©man (Lake Geneva) and Bourget and introduced in other mountain lakes. Reared for restocking and human consumption (Ref. 30578). Established in 138 lakes. Origin of stock found in Lake Allos studied (Ref. 45052 ). Likely to benefit from environmental regulations passed in France on 8.12.88. (Ref. 2163).

Status of threat: Vulnerable (Ref. 11941, 74334).
