Comments

Its introduction into France in 1971 was the result of initiatives taken by private fish growers and public organizations. The first captures from the rivers were reported in 1974 following its escape from culture ponds. It is considered as having disappeared from the culture set-ups since 1977. Its non-establishment is attributed to problems with salinity and temperature (Ref. 11941).
