Found from Port Clarence, Zhemchug Canyon on the eastern Bering Sea slope, and the islands of the Four Mountains in the Aleutian Is. (Ref. 6793). Ranges from Point Hope southward (Ref. 27547). Important part of the native subsistence fishery of Alaska (Ref. 27547). The commercial catch represents a relatively small part of the Alaskan salmon catch (Ref. 27547). Sport catches from Juneau and Ketchikan account for 2,000 to 2,500 fish per year (Ref. 27547). Also Ref. 1998, 5723, 6876, 10280, 11366, 43202, 96339, 121277.
