Comments

There were 500 individuals introduced to the Ab-e Bazuft of the Tigris-Euphrates drainage near Shiraz. Established in the Zagros mountains south of Dorud and in Gahaar river (headwaters of the Dez) and thus presents a danger of genetic swamping of unique indigenous taxa. In addition, introduced diseases and parasites may be particularly dangerous because of this close relationship of exotic and native taxa and the exotic may be a strong competitor for food and habitat (Ref. 27435).

Status of threat: Critically endangered (Ref. 47532).
