Lectotype from Angola, but without further details; however, as species is absent from Bengo and Quanza rivers, lectotype probably came from either the Angolan lower Congo River or from coastal rivers between this and the Bengo (Ref. 2) (M'Bridge, Loge, Dande). Present in northern Angolan coastal rivers according to Ref. 55074. Report from the "Cuanza (Atlantic coastal)" (Ref. 120641) probably refers to the Cuanzan drainage basin or Cuanza Ichthyological Province, including various Angolan coastal basins, and not (only) the Cuanza river basin. Also reported from the southern Congo River basin (Ref. 120641) but without further details.
