Known from Honshu northward from Ishikawa, Shiga and Mie Prefectures, discontinuously distributed in Yamaguchi Prefecture and Kyushu westward from River Nishiki (Ref. 41299). Recorded from Lake Biwa (Ref. 78994). Spawns mainly in April in Chikugo River (Ref. 46489).
