Its native range in Tanzania is probably confined to Lake Tanganyika (Ref. 4967, 118638), Lake Malawi (Ref. 118638), and their catchments, including Malagarazi River (Ref. 4967). Now found in more catchments as a result of stocking (Ref. 118638), where it contributes to the fisheries; also found in Lake Victoria where it has diffused from Ugandan waters (Ref. 1739) and Lake Rukwa drainage (Ref. 27292). |
