Type localities: Tasmania, BMNH ? (holotype of Chilodactylus allporti; Victoria, Hobsons Bay, Queens Cliff, SMNS 1655 (holotype of Chilodactylus asper); Melbourne market (syntypes of Cheilodactylus rubrofasciatus unknown). Known from Seal Rocks, NSW (32°28’S) to Robe, SA (139°45’E). (Ref. 75154). Also Ref. 4537, 9563.
