Known from the westwards flowing rivers Cuvo and Cubal (=Bero) (Ref. 11970, 42110) and the upper reaches of the Cunene, Okavango and Zambezi; possibly also in the headwaters of other coastal rivers (Ref. 52193). Report from the "Cuanza (Atlantic coastal)" (Ref. 120641) probably refers to the Cuanzan drainage basin or Cuanza Ichthyological Province, including various Angolan coastal basins, and not (only) the Cuanza river basin.
