Type locality of the lectotype of Typhleotris madagascariensis: 'dans l'aven dit Mitoho, creusé dans la falaise calcaire du pays Mahafaly (sud-ouest du Madagascar; 1km environ au nord de la limite est de la réserve naturelle du lac Manampetsa)' (Ref. 94243; lectotype by Ref. 94244). Known from underground waters, south of Onilahy River (Ref. 6802). Its geographic range extends from wells near Ambilahilalika, located about midway between Soalara and Efoetse in the north, southward to Nikotsy sinkhole, located just to the north of Itampolo (Ref. 93144). Its presence just north of the Linta River has to be confirmed (Ref. 93144). Also Ref. 13333.
