Reported in the Ryukyu Trough (Ref. 559) and Okinawa Trough (Ref. 13360). The 4 reported large Sinobatis (45.5 - 59.4 cm TL, males still immature at 52. 8 cm TL) collected from the Okinawa Trough and identified by Ishihara (1984) as S. borneensis are clearly too large for this species; figures of a large adult male (MTUF 25001, 55.1 cm TL), and a larger female (MTUF 25004, 59.4 cm TL), are closer to Sinobatis melanosoma. |
