Known from the Araguaia/Tocantins River basin (Ref. 79892). Museum: small rocky pool near town of Jatobal, Rio Tocantins, Pará, MZUSP 4335 (holotype, 49.3 mm SL); USNM 330064 (paratype, 48 mm SL). Cachoeira immediately downstream from São Bento, Rio Araguaia, Pará, MNHG 2575.53 (paratype, 49.8 mm SL).
