Known from Sydney Harbour to Bermagui in New South Wales, from the Gippsland Lakes and southeastern Bass Strait in Victoria, from the vicinity of Robe in South Australia, and from Binalong Bay and Wineglass Bay, Tasmania (Ref. 5316). Museum: Wineglass Bay, east coast of Tasmania, TMH D141 (Holotype) (Ref. 12965).
