Occurs on the continental shelf and slope of the Patagonian region (Ref. 27363). Found at depths between 70 and 620 m but is most abundant at about 200 m (Ref. 1371). Collected by the fishing vessel 'Othori' from SE Isla de los Estados in February 1995, with the use of a mid-water trawl at 700 m depth (Ref. 41244). Also Ref. 8984, 9988.
