Differs from other Telmatherina with pointed second dorsal and anal fins by the combination of the following characters: body brown with bluish belly, pelvic and tip of anal and second dorsal; longest rays of anal and second dorsal fins less than body depth; body depth 26.1-31.5 % SL, 84100 % HL; snout about as wide as long, its width 0.93-1.04 in its length and larger than interorbital width (Ref. 7305).
