Africa: Lower Guinea endemic, known from the Ogowe and Nyanga basins in Gabon, and the Niari-Kouilou basin in the Republic of Congo (Ref. 81639).

Diagnosis: mouth inferior; two pairs of short barbels; anterior pair 1.33x eye diameter, posterior pair 1.85x eye diameter; lateral line complete; 25-29 scales in lateral line; 4.5 scales between lateral line and dorsal fin; 4.5 scales between lateral line and mid-ventral line; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; last simple ray of dorsal fin flexible and not serrated; no striping or spotting on sides; black spot at base of dorsal fin (Ref. 81639).
Maximum TL was recorded at 8.0 cm (Ref. 2801).
