Short description Morfologia | Morfometria

P. silasi differs from its congener P. pangasius by having vomero-palatal teeth confluent as an uninterrupted curved band (vs. two lunate vomeropalatal teeth patches on each side with a wide gap in the center) and 48 vertebrae (vs. 44). It is also distinguished from P. myanmar, which is reported from Myanmar and has overlapping distribution with P. pangasius. It is also diagnosed from all congeners by its vomero-palatine dentition (Ref. 117930).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01072 (0.00450 - 0.02549), b=3.01 (2.80 - 3.22), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.9   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Moderate vulnerability (40 of 100).
