Distinguished from all congeners by the combination of the following characters: lateral line complete, with 31-33+1-2 pored scales; ½6-½ 7/1/2 ½-3½ scales in transverse line on body, ½3/1/½ -1½ on caudal peduncle; body depth 2.9-3.1 times in SL; caudal peduncle length 11.8-13.5% SL; and lower jaw smooth, lacking tubercles (Ref. 75997).

Occurs in rainforest streams (Ref. 75997).
