Espinas dorsales (total): 14 - 17; Radios blandos dorsales (total): 10-12; Espinas anales 0; Radios blandos anales: 8 - 10; Vértebra: 29 - 30. The nape and the upper part of head are distinctively orange-brown in male adults (Ref. 49505).

Caught at shallow depths (2-15 m), but also observed in a trawl between 20-28 m (Ref. 49505). Females produce about 30 eggs per batch (Ref. 49505).
