Short description
Morfología | Morfometría
Radios blandos dorsales (total): 12; Radios blandos anales: 8. With unique color pattern consisting of a yellowish background with a black stripe along dorsal mid-line and one from tip of snout to caudal fin base through eye and along lateral line; 1 (-3) small vertically elongated spots over lateral stripe; in life, the spots are surrounded by a whitish area (Ref. 39226).
Inhabits streams with moderate to strong current over sandy or pebble substrate. Feeds on may-flies. Observed to form small troops of up to 20 individuals above the substrate around large rocks. This is in contrast with most of the nemacheilines which live solitary under stones. A female measuring 4.16 cm SL with distended belly and ripe ovulae, about 0.7 mm in diameter (Ref. 39226).
