Africa: Como, Bandama and Sassandra rivers in Côte d'Ivoire. Affinities: Marcusenius ussheri, Marcusenius mento, and Marcusenius thomasi. Recorded from Tano River, Ghana (Ref. 272).

Spine dorsali (totale) : 0; Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 29 - 34; Spine anali: 0; Raggi anali molli: 30 - 36. Dorsal fin origin same level as anal fin. Body depth 3.2-3.5 x SL. Thick caudal peduncle, 2.6-3.8 x its length.
