পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 5 - 6; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 10-12; পায়ূ কাঁটা 1; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 16 - 17. Translucent and blue-green in color; pigmentation on head and body variable (Ref. 4125).
Usually caught offshore in depths of less than 2 m. Used as food for larger commercial species and possibly as bait.
