背鰭的最後鰭條些微地變硬了與比較不有齒在後面的側邊上, 確定地末梢部的部份 (參考文獻 27628; [I 認為作家最後意謂了 , 不分枝的鰭條取代最後的鰭條; Gert Boden,2001]). 觸鬚短; 前面的觸鬚不經過鼻孔; 在後部的觸鬚正好經過眼的前面側邊.(參考文獻 27628) 背部兩側褐色-銀色的色彩, 腹的旁銀色的。 淺灰色的黑色或黑色的側面條紋跳躍從鰓蓋到尾鰭; 背鰭、尾鰭與臀鰭是褐色-橘色的, 偶鰭不是色彩.(參考文獻 27628)
Found in lakes and rivers. In the Lake Victoria system it appears in rivers and lake-side streams during rains, and in dry season along shores of the lake (adults) or in floodwater pools (juveniles) (Ref. 104796). Anadromous (Ref. 104796). Likely to spawn twice a year; floodwater pools appear to be spawning grounds; breeding may also occur among grasses at river edges (Ref. 104796).
