Pelvic fins united into moderate-sized double sucking-disc, posterior half with fleshy margin (Ref. 9002). Color variable, usually brownish with dark spots which form bands in young (Ref. 9002).
Inhabits intertidal to subtidal reefs in rocky weed areas (Ref. 9002). Secretive, found under rocks (Ref. 9002).
