Etymology: Macrhybopsis: Greek, makros = great + Greek, ybos, -e, -on = rounded + Greek, opsis = appearance (Ref. 45335);  storeriana: Named after an early North American naturalist and ichthyologist, David H. Storer (Ref. 10294).
