Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal soft rays (total): 13; Anal soft rays: 9. Differs from all congeners by unique color pattern consisting of 11-16 black spots along mid-side, black spots on top of head and predorsal area continuing as a row of spots to the caudal base, and a short vertical black bar at the caudal-fin base. Can be further diagnosed from similar species by the following combination of characters: absence of black suborbital bar; lateral line extending almost to caudal fin; iv, 8½ dorsal-fin rays ; iii, 5½ anal-fin rays; i, 10 pectoral-fin rays; i, 7 pelvic-fin rays; and caudal fin with 9 branched rays in upper half, 8 branched rays in lower half (Ref. 93042).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00692 (0.00311 - 0.01538), b=3.02 (2.85 - 3.19), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.0   ±0.3 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
