Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal soft rays: 5. Oxynoemacheilus gyndes differs from all congeners in the Tigris drainage by the following characters: very short lateral line, reaching slightly behind the pectoral-fin base, not reaching the vertical through the dorsal-fin origin (vs. reaching under the dorsal-fin base or above the anal-fin base in O. frenatus and O. kiabii); lateral line complete in O. chomanicus, O. parvinae, O. zagrosensis, O. begianus, O. euphraticus; O. longipinnis; O. karunensis and O. kurdistanicus) and its peculiar color pattern consisting of midlateral series of small, horizontally elongated, dark-brown blotches often fused into an irregularly-shaped midlateral stripe, one additional stripe above and below the midlateral stripe in many individuals (vs. flank mottled or with vertically elongated, irregularly shapes blotches or bars in other species from the Tigris) (Ref. 115651).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00724 (0.00339 - 0.01546), b=3.01 (2.84 - 3.18), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.8   ±0.3 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
